Mainza Nkomeshya Kawanu, known as The Urban Evangelist, is a dynamic woman of faith who brings timeless truth into modern spaces. From the heart of Lusaka, Zambia, she breaks boundaries as a seasoned communications expert, entrepreneur, and digital evangelist, merging purpose and profession to reach diverse audiences with authenticity.

Mainza is driven by a passion to see individuals discover their identity in Christ and live with purpose and boldness. She endeavors to serve a balanced diet of grace and truth; offering compelling biblical messages, practical teachings, and engagement to inspire and nourish others to maturity.

Through her platform, “The Urban Evangelist”, she reaches across digital and physical spaces to effect real change and transformation. From her weekly "Truth Tea" devotionals that touch thousands online to the annual "Truth Experience" events that bring her community together in powerful, in-person worship and connection, she creates spaces where faith meets real life.

Her "Truth and Tea Podcast" dives deep into discussions about faith, identity, and purpose, while "Nourish" events offer a sanctuary for women to reconnect with their inner selves and find renewal. Whether speaking at conferences, engaging online, training end time disciples at Rhema Bible Training Centre Zambia or mentoring women one-on-one, she uses every opportunity to empower others to live courageously and impactfully for God’s glory.

Mainza has shared 15 beautiful years of marriage with her husband, Len Kawanu and together they are proud parents to five wonderful sons.

Personal Message

While most bios are written in the third person, no one can tell my story of encountering Christ better than I can. Ever been rejected? Ever chased approval, desperate to feel like you’re enough? That was me. For years, I lived in the grip of rejection and approval addiction—trying to measure up, only to feel more unloved and unworthy. But Christ met me in those dark places. He didn’t just save me; He rewrote my story.

He pulled me out of despair and showed me who I truly am: loved, chosen, and purposed. As I got to know Jesus, He introduced me to myself—the woman He created me to be. He revealed that my worth isn’t found in others’ approval but in His unchanging love. And as He healed my heart, He launched me into a calling I never thought possible.

Now, I’m passionate about reaching all who feel like I once did—lost, broken, and unworthy of being used by God. I want to tell you this: your background does not disqualify you. God’s grace can redeem the messiest of circumstances, including yours.

My prayer is that through this platform, you’ll not only encounter truth but also experience the hope, healing, and boldness that come from truly knowing Christ. If He could do it for me, He can do it for you.

The Truth Experience, originally known as the Truth High Tea, is an annual gathering that began in 2022, with three life-changing events held to date. What started as a space designed for women has now blossomed into an inclusive fellowship for both women and men, creating a community where no one is left behind.

For women, it is a sacred moment to rediscover their God-given identities in a world that constantly redefines womanhood. It is a space to reflect, reconnect, and step boldly into their unique purpose. The Truth Experience reminds every woman that she is not alone in this journey—that her purpose is strengthened by the wisdom of those who have gone before her, the encouragement of those walking beside her, and the grace to embrace every facet of the woman within her.

The Truth Experience is more than just an event—it’s a movement. It’s a place where faith, connection, and empowerment converge. It brings together women from across borders—local, regional, and international—who are committed to prioritizing spiritual well-being. Featuring inspiring voices from Africa and beyond, it creates lasting connections and a shared vision for impact that extends far beyond the day itself.
